DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed to death at the weekend.

Police were called to Alibon Gardens, Dagenham, at about 11:52pm on Saturday and found a 21-year-old Lithuanian man collapsed outside a house. He died at Romford's Queen's Hospital at about 1am.

Det Chief Insp Jason Gwillim, of homicide and serious crime command, said officers have contacted the Lithuanian embassy to inform next of kin.

He said: "At this stage it is believed the victim was attending a barbecue at the address, with approximately six other people.

"He was then involved in an altercation which led to him being stabbed."

Two men have been arrested and are being quizzed by police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 020 8345 3865 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
